I like to walk with Grandpa,
His steps are short like mine,
He doesn't say, "Now hurry up!"
He always takes his time.
I like to walk with Grandpa,
His eyes see things like mine do...
Wee pebbles bright, a funny cloud,
Half hidden drops of dew.
Most people have to hurry,
They do not stop and see.
I'm glad that God made Grandpa
Unrushed and young like me.

Grandpa and Matthew playing games together. Matt always had so much fun with Grandpa.

Lake Mary High School Lacrosse Senior Year 2003
Matt played lacrosse all four years of high school starting out playing midfield and switching to attack. I don't think he ever missed a practice or a game. In the bottom picture is Matt with his friends and teammates Ryan Dees, Tommy Kuriakose, and Jordan Supraner after a game at Disney's Wide World of Sports.

Matt and Grandma, their last Christmas together. Matt did no wrong in her eyes and he knew it!

How Do You Measure - Measure A Year?

This is the last picture taken of Matt with his grandparents. Two days before the crash, in Dec of '06, I showed him the scrapbook page I was making and asked him what he thought a good title for the page would be. He looked at it and without hesitation said, "Favorite Grandson Sandwich".

Matt's 23rd birthday. Only gone for a little over a year and yet this was his 2nd birthday in heaven instead of here. The picture on the scrapbook page was from Matt's 21st birthday, his last birthday he got to celebrate here on Earth. His friend, Patrick, is in the photo with him. Pat drove from UF to FSU to celebrate with Matt.
